Kenting National Park

Of Taiwan’s 7 national parks, Kenting National Park is the first to cover the land and the sea with a total area of 33268.65 hectares with extraordinary geographic terrains, rich and diverse natural landscape resources as well as special and rare coastal vegetation. Hengchun Chuhuo

Chuhuo is outside the east gate of Hengchun. Its underground natural gas leaks to the surface and catches fire, hence the name Chuhuo, meaning “fire from the ground.” With fire all year round, the surroundings are turned into a park to attract visitors to witness this wondrous sight.

Guanshan Sunset

Guanshan is also called Gaoshanyan, located in the southwest plateau of Hengchun. It is essentially an elevated coral plateau, measuring 152 meters above sea level. Offering a fantastic view, it attracts many visitors to watch the sunset here, which is listed amongst the eight great sights of the Hengchun Peninsula. Guanshan offers an aerial view of the sea reflecting the sunset and turns golden yellow in color. A fabulous sight indeed.

Shuangliu National Forest Recreation Area

On a land area of 1,569 hectares, Shuangliu National Forest Recreation Area features the Shuangliu Waterfall, sunshine lawn, visitor center, forest classroom, nature educational center and Maozi Mountain, plus White Barkfig and waterfall trails which are easy, less challenging trails, suitable for the general public. It offers excellent ecological resources, green mountains and clear waters. Great for hiking, observing ecology and forest bathing.

Kayoufeng Waterfall (Neishi Waterfall)

Kayoufeng is pronounced as Zhualidiu in the Payuan language and means “Cliff.” Standing at 100 meters above sea level, it is the biggest waterfall in Hengchun Peninsula. Located upstream of the Fangshan River, the waterfall is off the beaten paths with placid water running all year round. The waterfall is divided into two by a protruding boulder in the middle and looks all the more magnificent because of it.
