Founded over 300 years ago, the Fuan Temple is the religious center in Hengchun and also the largest temple in Southeast Asia worshipping the Earth God. It attracts visitors all year round with pilgrimages from other temples in Taiwan that also worship the Earth God. Next to the temple is a year-round market selling Hengchun’s special produce and street foods on stalls. In this busy market, you can sample Checheng mung bean soup and buy onions and Hongren Duck Eggs.
